I’m René Olmos, a cinematographer and producer based in North Carolina. My journey started with a camera in hand, filming travel videos and teaching myself how to tell stories. Since then, I’ve worked on everything from narrative films and documentaries to commercial content and large-scale productions. I’ve had the opportunity to lead camera and lighting teams, and I often step into gaffing, color, producing, and securing gear and crews to make sure the story is brought to life the right way.
Every time I step on set, I feel gratitude for doing what I love for a living. I believe film matters, it has the power to move people, shift perspectives, and leave something meaningful behind. I’m ambitious about where I’m headed, but I never want to lose the passion that got me here in the first place. My goal is to keep creating bold, honest work, collaborate with people who care, and inspire others who come from humble beginnings like mine to believe they can do it too.
